History

Our welcoming mortuary and funeral home is located in the city of South Gate. South Gate is one of the largest cities in Los Angeles County and is located just 12 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles.

Originally named Biby Mortuary, the facility was located on the corner of California Ave. and Tweedy Blvd. It remained at this location until 1947, at which point Mr. James Biby and Bob Belyea became partners of the facility and moved the original building to its present location at 8665 California Ave. Soon after the move, the facility was enlarged and landscaping began.

Eventually, the mortuary became part of the Dignity Memorial® network and was renamed to Funeraria del Angel South Gate.
